Since their formation in late 2005, Taiwan boy band sensation Fahrenheit has enjoyed tremendous popularity in Chinese-speaking regions around the world. In 2008, their second album Two-sided Fahrenheit achieved huge success in Japan as well and cemented their Asia’s super pop group status. Now they’re following that up with their highly anticipated new album due out early 2009, which was recorded during their world tour at different cities across Asia. Their latest album’s music style will have more rock elements in addition to their ballads and dance numbers. The track list includes the title song “Loving You More and More”, idol drama theme songs “Artery” (from Mysterious Incredible Terminator) and “Stars” (from Rolling Love).

Hong Kong-based singer-songwriter Khalil Fong is releasing his fourth album Orange Moon. Taking in influences from soul, jazz, R&B, and adult contemporary music, he has established a unique musical world of his own. Included in his highly anticipated new album will be his new single “Everybody Will”, a song written for Cartier’s charity project, which is consistent with his usual theme of love. Khalil’s soft vocals match with Lin Xi’s lyrical words to make this heartwarming number carrying the notion that “everybody can hold out a hand to the people mired in difficulties”.
Having spent his childhood in Shanghai, Khalil decided to shoot the album cover in that city for the romantic feeling she inspires. The album title is similarly romantic, conjuring up images of a setting sun in the dusk sky. The first plug Singalongsong is thematically a follow-up of Love Song from his last album. This English single opens the album, and its Mandarin version “The Song Written for You”, penned by Arthur Ma, is available as a bonus track.

The latest sounds of Leehom Wang are here to stay. The inventive all-round artist rides on the top of the Mando-pop wave again. For his latest song “What’s up Rock!!” he collaborates with Janet Hsieh playing the pipa, merging traditional Chinese sounds with that of modern electric guitar to unveil rock with an Eastern touch. On September 19 and 20, Leehom will be launching his “Music Man World Wide Tour” at the Taipei Arena as a prelude to his 2008 new album titled Heart Beat.

Ruby Lin 2008 New Album
Though first and foremost an actress, Taiwan sweetheart Ruby Lin has dabbled as a singer on and off in the last decade. Returning to music with her first album release in over four years, Ruby is as bright and beautiful as ever, and showing markedly improved vocals. This time she took an active role in the production process - be it song selection, recording, and music video planning - to create an album that truly brings out her character and style. Ruby also collaborated with renowned stylist Chen Sun Hua, who previously worked with divas Jolin Tsai, Elva Hsiao, and Stefanie Sun, to present a fresh new look. The album revolves around the city-girl perspective on life and love, starting with the uptempo first plug “Onion Soup” (Track 2), a post-breakup song that takes a positive tone about starting anew after the pain. “Used to It” (Track 4) should also strike a common chord with many listeners, as the lyrics describe a relationship that has run its course and lost its spark, but still difficult to give up. Other songs include “One Person’s Romance” (Track 10) and second plug “I Thought It’d be Fine as Long as I Don’t See It”, for which Ruby traveled to Beijing to shoot the music video.
